Rütschi installed the first pump in 1967 in the Swiss nuclear power plants of Beznau and Mühleberg, very close to the Rütschi factory in Brugg. In the following years, through the participation to the majority of nuclear projects, Rütschi become a leader in this market. Today the Rütschi pumps are operating in more than 150 Nuclear Power Plants worldwide.
The Future
Rütschi was awarded by EDF, Electricité de France, for a contract for the new Flamanville reactor. The third AREVA generation pressurized water reactor EPR will be more powerful, safer and more competitive than the previous reactors. With about 3000 pumps operating in the French Nuclear Power Plants, Rütschi is one of the major partner for many circuits "important for safety".
